Information letter #3 Heineken Hoek: Work performed and assembly of tower crane
Dear businesses and residents,
In this third information letter, we would like to let you know about the current situation, what work will be carried out in the coming period, and how this might affect you.
Work completed
- The bored piles have been installed using sound and vibration-free methods;
- A site hut and fencing have been installed at the construction site;
- The first concrete foundation for the tower crane has been poured;
- We are preparing for encasing the installations which will be placed under the basement floor, and we are finishing pouring concrete for the lift and waste water wells.
Work and assembly of tower crane in the coming period
Tower crane assembly starts on March 14
Before pouring the basement floor, we are going to assemble the tower crane. Assembly work is scheduled for the week of March 14. A few days in advance, we will post an update on the exact date on the project website. The website address is at the bottom of this letter, so keep a close eye on this website if you would like to be kept updated. For both your safety and our safety, a section around the construction site will be cordoned off and we will deploy traffic controllers around the construction site.
It is also necessary to temporarily close the access to the bicycle shed on the north side of Leidseplein during the day. This access will be open if an emergency arises. We understand that these precautions may inconvenience you, so we are doing all we can to complete the assembly of the crane within a few working days and limit nuisance to a minimum.
Structural construction stage
After the tower crane has been built, we will continue on building the structure. This means that the basement and the floors will be built, and the building will take on its final form. In this construction stage, various vehicles will be supplying and removing materials and equipment each day. Here too, we will obviously do our utmost to limit any inconvenience to a minimum. For example, large vehicles will load and unload inside the construction fencing.
Considerate constructors
We realise that we are guests in your area, and we will try to prevent any nuisance as much as possible and to keep it to a minimum. As a construction company, we are affiliated with the Stichting Bewuste Bouwers (Considerate Constructors Foundation). We work according to its code of conduct, in which limiting nuisance to the environment is paramount.
Our working hours
According to the building permits, work is allowed from Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 16:00. Materials and equipment may be supplied to and removed from the construction site between 07:00 and 12:00. Occasionally, it is possible that we will have to work outside the permitted times. We will let you know if this is the case and it concerns work that might cause a nuisance.
